COLLABORATIVE TRAININGS

I offer training in collaborative practice. I train with a psychologist, Dr. Susan Gamache, and our inter-disciplinary training team includes Doreen Gardner Brown, a Certified Financial Planner. Dr. Gamache and I were course co-ordinators for the award winning Collaborative training offered through British Columbia Continuing Legal Education, which won the international ACLEA award for Professional Excellence (top award). We are adjunct professors at the University of British Columbia, and are both members of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) Trainers Advisory Group and members of the Board of the IACP.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TRAININGS

We offer trainings for lawyers, financial specialists, and mental health professionals (including child specialists). We believe in trainings that combine responsiveness to the needs of your collaborative community and comprehensive, practical guidelines so that the professionals in your community are ready to do cases once they have attended our training. Our inter-disciplinary trainings meet the IACP training standards for inter-disciplinary training.
Our most popular trainings are:

• Basic Inter-disciplinary Training for all professionals (lawyers, mental health professionals and financial professionals) that have had no previous training,
• Transforming Your Group Inter-disciplinary Training training for lawyers who have had some basic training, and for mental health professionals and financial specialists who have had no previous collaborative training, and
• Bringing Therapists on Board training for groups that have worked as lawyer only groups and wish to move to a lawyer, divorce coach and child specialist group.
